Miss Madoque

Miss Madoque was a villainous female werewolf from Werewolf Hunter, a story from the April 1943 issue of Rangers Comics #10.

Introduction[]

Miss Madoque was introduced as the daughter of trapper P. Madoque (it is not revealed what the "P" stands for), but she is later shown being threatened by her father wtih an axe at their home. The attempted murder was witnessed by Professor Broussard, his daughter Lily, and his assistant Danny O'Shea, who had encountered a werewolf earlier in the story. The werewolf prowled on Friday nights and had attacked three people, killing two of them, and the assault led the trio to believe that Madoque was the werewolf and was going after his daughter.

Upon entering, Madoque stated that his daughter arrived late for the dance, and afterwards, Lily offered to stay with Miss Madoque while the Professor and Danny searched the woods for the werewolf. It was after the pair left that Danny recognized the Madoque name, as someone with that name was convicted of being a werewolf and beheaded in France back in 1709.

Heel Turn[]

Miss Madoque's reveal as the werewolf

At that moment, Miss Madoque turned heel by revealing herself as the werewolf, transforming and going after Lily. Following Miss Madoque's heel turn, Lily ran out towards the creek; all the while, the evil Miss Madoque continued her villainous pursuit. After reaching a nearby boat, Lily slipped and fell into the creek, where the Professor, Danny, and Madoque spotted her and feared that the werewolf got to her. However, Lily escaped and crawled beneath the bateau, while Miss Madoque was dragged by a gator and devoured.

As the group revealed, both Madoque and his daughter were descendants of the infamous werewolf Madoques from France, but while Madoque didn't inherit the werewolf curse, his daughter did. The villainess had been committing murders every Friday night, and her father's attempt to kill her was due to him finding out about his daughter's villainous activities.
