Silver bullets are a type of ammunition made of silver. Traditionally they are believed to be the greatest weapon against werewolves as well as a number of other supernatural beings.
The first recorded use of this weapon is in the legend of the Beast of Gévaudan, in which a gigantic wolf is killed by Jean Chastel using a gun loaded with silver bullets.
